The Year of the Rooster Lands at Mandarin Oriental, Miami
MO Bar + Lounge is serving up two new sips: “The Red Rooster,” a whiskey-based cocktail with Chinese five-spice syrup, lemon juice, Jasmine, and ginger ale, and “The Brickell Rooster,” made with double rye, lychee saketini mix, cherry spice simple syrup, and Ancho Reyes liqueur.
Over at La Mar, Peruvian flavors get the eastern treatment via costillitas, ribs with hoisin, aji pisco, and sesame seeds. The fusions finds continue with steamed branzio with soy sauce, cilantro, Chinese wine, tausi, scallions and white chaufan, and tapadito chifa, rice, egg tortilla, sautéed chicken, tonku mushrooms, aji amarillo, and vegetables. The Red Rooster platings can be found during lunch and dinner.
To culminate the celebrations, a traditional Chinese lion dance will take over the hotel lobby on Saturday, January, 28 at 7 PM. This embodiment of good luck mimics the animal’s movements to the beat of drums, cymbals, and gongs.
