TotalBank Moving Headquarters to Miami 2014

As the main commercial hub for all of South Florida, Downtown Miami and adjacent Brickell are constantly abuzz with business news. In recent years, there’s been a steady influx of companies from all over the world, in addition to a growing number of local start-ups. This is driven not only by the city’s bustling economy, but by its fantastic and ever-growing market of excellent residential and commercial spaces.

Such was the reason for TotalBank’s high-profile decision to move to a more central location in the city. As the Miami Herald reported:

“TotalBank said Tuesday that it will relocate its headquarters to larger space at Miami Tower, at 100 S.E. 2nd St., in downtown Miami. The move, geared to further grow its brand and make its operation more efficient, is expected in May 2014.

The Miami bank said it will have signage atop the Miami Tower, where it will have 60,000 square feet of space on three floors, with a banking center on the ground floor.

TotalBank’s current headquarters since 1974, at 2720 Coral Way, will be renovated as its new operations center, which was previously located at the Palmetto Bay banking center, the bank said. The bank will continue to house its International Personal Banking and Total Wealth Management units at 800 Brickell Ave., in Miami.

TotalBank, part of Grupo Banco Popular Español, has $2.5 billion in assets and 21 banking centers in Miami-Dade County.”

This decision isn’t too surprising given that the downtown area, particularly Brickell, hosts the largest concentration of banks in the entire country. It’s also why residents from all over the world come to live in Brickell, taking advantage of its unique work-life opportunities and wide selection of mixed-use buildings.
