Atlantis on Brickell

Atlantis Brickell Condos For Sale & Rentals Miami

In 1982 a building named Atlantis Brickell Condos joined the list of residential condominium towers in Miami’s financial district known as Brickell.  A revolutionary and famous design, the building is renown for its bright color scheme, sleek glass façade and five-story palm court featuring a spiral staircase, Jacuzzi, and what else, but a palm tree.  Visitors often recognize the Atlantis on Brickell immediately as the memorable building featured on the popular television show, “Miami Vice” in both the opening credits and as a set location.

Located at 2025 Brickell Avenue, the Atlantis on Brickell is a 21-story building that may be much shorter than some of its luxury condominium tower neighbors, but it is by far one of the most famous buildings in not only the Brickell area, but also in Miami.  Designed by famed architectural firm Arquitectonica—the same designers of the Icon on Brickell Atlantis on Brickell has a distinct look defined by its hollowed out center, multiple deco colors and smooth glass exterior.

The Atlantis on Brickell features building amenities including:

•    Pool
•    Jacuzzi
•    Fitness center
•    Tennis court
•    Racquetball court
•    Concierge
•    24-hour security
•    Covered parking

The Atlantis Brickell condos houses 96 spacious units including two and three bedroom floor plans with either two and three baths.  Each unit ranges from 1,304 square feet to nearly 3,390 square feet. Residence features include tile flooring, central air conditioning, central heat, electric range and oven, disposal, dishwasher, refrigerator, clothes washer, clothes dryer, pantry, intercom system, walk-in closet, and some units also have the added benefit of private balconies.

Just like the Atlantis Brickell condos is a notable building in Brickell, historic landmarks such as the Miami Circle alsopopulate the area.  Known as one of the most archaeologically significant finds in North America, The Miami Circle is a prehistoric landmark that wasn’t discovered until 1998.  Its discovery was prompted by a routine archaeological survey mandated by Miami-Dade County.  The site was home to an apartment complex at 401 Brickell Avenue that had existed on the property since the 1870’s.  When the site was purchased for more than $8 million dollars by developer Michael Baumann, it was intended to become a luxury condominium building.  However, the discovery of 24 holes cut into limestone bedrock, which formed the perfect circle, halted construction in favor of persevering the prehistoric structure.

Archaeologists believe that Miami Circle—also known as the Miami River Circle, BrickellPoint or The Miami Circle at Brickell Point Site—predates other known permanent settlements on the East Coast.  Additionally, they believe that the Tequesta Indians built the structure as a mark of their capital.  Experts estimate that the Miami Circle is between 1700 and 2000 years old.  It is on the National Register of Historic Places and on January 16, 2009, it was dedicated as a National Historic Landmark.
Currently the Historical Museum of Southern Florida is offering tours of the Miami Circle as a part of its 44-year lease of the site, which began in March 2008.
