Getting Around Brickell: Ridesharing With Uber & Lyft


Miami is one of the major US cities that embraces ride sharing. Get picked up for less than a taxi using apps like Uber and Lyft. To get started, simply download either app on your mobile device. From there, you can order a pickup from any location with a tap of your finger. Uber Miami currently offers pooling deals, upgraded vehicles, and scheduled rides. Lyft also offers a cheaper fare for riding with others.

Freebee’s eco-friendly, golf cart-style cars connect riders with Miami via The Free Bee application. Once downloaded, riders can request complimentary pick-ups throughout their service area. The Freebee boasts perks, too, including discounts, deals, and giveaways often connected to the rider’s destination. Brickell and Downtown availability are from 11 AM – midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, and 11 AM – 2 AM from Thursday to Saturday.

Getting Around Brickell: Citi Bike Miami


Citi Bike Miami is a bike sharing network and rental system providing thousands of bikes to locals and tourists through Brickell, Downtown Miami, Edgewater, and Miami Beach. These bikes are available for use 24 hours-a-day, 365 days a year. Potential riders can opt for hourly rentals or a monthly membership for unlimited 30-minute or hour-long rides.

Getting Around Brickelli: The Metromover & Metrorail

Metromover: The Metromover is an electronically-powered, aboveground smart car system that connects Downtown Miami with Brickell, as well as the Metrorail and Metrobus. The mover is always free and is comprised of an inner and outer loop that runs from 5 AM to midnight daily. Notable stops include the AmericanAirlines Arena and Museum Park.

Metrorail: Miami’s Metrorail rapidly flows through the city with routes to Miami International Airport (MIA), Coral Gables, Hialeah, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Liberty City, and Kendall.  Metrorail also connects to Broward and Palm Beach counties at the Tri-Rail/Metrorail transfer station. EASY cards can be purchased at any station for only $2.25. Commuting professionals are encouraged to participate in Metrorail’s corporate discount program. Express service is available during rush hour.
