Ditch Your Phone at Mandarin Oriental’s Digital Wellness Retreats

Emails. Social media. Text messages. Streaming. Our technology-laden world can quickly get overwhelming, even for the most consciously mind. To help wellness-seekers detach from their digital demands, the Mandarin Oriental, Miami has launched Digital Wellness Retreats. The spa starts the day by putting guest’s cellphones into gifted “sleeping bags” allowing them to say farewell to their mobiles for the day.

Once phone and owner part ways, it’s off to the day’s activities, including lawn yoga, sound bowl meditation, private beach lounging, and coloring. Guests can also savor a healthy Bento lunch and pressed juices poolside. The spa’s new Digital Wellness Escape keeps the theme going, offering guests an 80-minute massage and scrub that rectifies tensions caused by laptop and cell phone overuse. Those who choose to book a second treatment get special pricing on complementing experiences, including the signature Kundalini Journey and Inner Strength.

The Year of the Rooster Lands at Mandarin Oriental, Miami

Brickell Key’s Mandarin Oriental, Miami is paying homage to its Asian roots and the Chinese New Year 2017 with special food and drink offerings from Monday, January 23, 2017 to Sunday, January 29, 2017. The limited-time, “Year of the Fire Rooster” additions can be found inside MO Bar + Lounge and La Mar by Gaston Acurio.

MO Bar + Lounge is serving up two new sips: “The Red Rooster,” a whiskey-based cocktail with Chinese five-spice syrup, lemon juice, Jasmine, and ginger ale, and “The Brickell Rooster,” made with double rye, lychee saketini mix, cherry spice simple syrup, and Ancho Reyes liqueur.

Over at La Mar, Peruvian flavors get the eastern treatment via costillitas, ribs with hoisin, aji pisco, and sesame seeds. The fusions finds continue with steamed branzio with soy sauce, cilantro, Chinese wine, tausi, scallions and white chaufan, and tapadito chifa, rice, egg tortilla, sautéed chicken, tonku mushrooms, aji amarillo, and vegetables. The Red Rooster platings can be found during lunch and dinner.

To culminate the celebrations, a traditional Chinese lion dance will take over the hotel lobby on Saturday, January, 28 at 7 PM. This embodiment of good luck mimics the animal’s movements to the beat of drums, cymbals, and gongs.

Brickell Key Real Estate Booming!

Brickell Key is one of the most affluent subdivisions in Brickell, an exclusive island of high-end condos located right off the mainland in beautiful Biscayne Bay. Given that its vast collection of condos offers the finest quality of life imaginable, it’s perhaps little surprise that it’s doing so well.

But as the local Brickell Reporter has discovered, Brickell Key is doing phenomenal even by its own thriving standards, leading the way to Brickell’s overall recovery.

Brickell Key is booming once again with sales picking up in the high end real estate market. Asia, one of several luxury condominiums on the island, reported seven units sold in the first six weeks of the year at an average price of $1.5 million.

Maile Aguila, Senior Vice President of Swire Properties, a luxury real estate firm with offices on Brickell Key, says, “The international market is strong and leading the uptick in sales. Venezuelans and Brazilians in particular favor Brickell Key because of the amenities and lifestyle it offers as well as the privileged location.”

Indeed, with such acclaimed resort-style condos as One, Two, and Three Tequesta Point, Courts Brickell Key, Carbonell, and Asia, it’s little wonder why people from all over the world clamor for the Brickell Key’s prestigious selection. Plus, this exclusive island benefits from a prime location just minutes away from Downtown Miami and Miami Beach, giving its privileged residents a great combination of convenience and luxury.

Better still, prospective residents – especially those from overseas – can enjoy another added benefit:

Aguila also points out that financing is becoming more available as banks have seen property values on the island increasing steadily over the past year. “That’s why we are seeing a trend towards more buyers purchasing with bank financing rather than cash,” she adds.

In other words, now is as good a time as any to finance your acquisition of these limited-edition units.
