We all know that Miami attracts people by the numbers for our beautiful beaches and weather. One thing that is lacking however are big waves for the surfer enthusiasts.
Now, thanks to one Swedish brand, even surfing has gone high-tech making the sport possible without waves. Radinn’s G2X Jetboard combines all the fun of wakeboarding and surfing without the need to rely on mother nature. The high-tech board boasts an ultra-quiet, electric motor capable of pushing the G2X to a top speed of 36 miles per hour. Even for avid surfers, that’s pretty fast for open water.
We got our hands on one board and the experience was thrilling to say the least. Cruising around multi-million dollar mansions and giant cruise ships made the experience even more memorable. The perfect toy for anyone seeking a thrill around the beautiful waters of Miami.
The experience was exhilarating to say the least. The board was very easy to ride considering my past surfing experience, however there may be a small learning curve for someone with no experience on a board. The ride was very smooth and glided through the water. Having to initially start off on your stomach until the board reaches enough momentum to stand up. The board felt very steady when transitioning from kneeling-to-standing. Once standing up and reaching top speeds, there was nothing like soaking in the views of Star Island and the port of Miami while cruising on a board.
If you’re looking to purchase one of these awesome boards, you can purchase directly from their website, www.Radinn.com. The standard kit is currently available for pre-order in white or black for a cool €9,900 (approximately USD $12,200) which includes the G2X board, a powerpack L, the remote controller, standard charger, and a board bag.
