The world-class Brickell Key in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood joined the Miami landscape from humble beginnings. In 1896, Henry Flager—one of Miami’s first real estate tycoons—dredged a nine-foot channel at the mouth of the Miami River.
The deposits from the dredging formed two small islands.  However, it wasn’t until 1943 when Edward N.
